Ra had a very specific design to the education process into the Human Design System. Starting with a Foundation Reading from a Certified Analyst, to the guidance through “Living Your Design” and then introducing some of the mechanics of the Human Design System in “Rave ABC 236” and “Rave Cartography”, these Foundation Courses are taught with a “laid back” approach; the person goes through the Courses and gets what they get. The idea is that this is more about the person having the opportunity to explore and discover their own Energy rather than being a person who is trained to directly educate others in the Human Design System. That all changes with PTL1.

Ra intentionally wanted the PTL1 Course to be rigorous and intensive; setting a foundation for the ultimate Certification of the Student several years down the road. I recall how Ra stated that, at the beginning of his personal process, The Voice said, “Are you ready to work?” My sense is that these very same words could be asked of each PTL1 Student. The stated Educational Goal for PTL1 reads, in part, “When they leave [PTL1], their eventual certification examinations must be almost an afterthought due to the level of familiarity they have with Keynoting in their own unique style within the Human Design standard.” The first thing a person considering PTL1 needs to recognize is; this requires commitment, work, and discipline.

Now that I’ve likely rattled your cage a bit, let’s look at the flip side; why in the world would someone subject themselves to this? The very simple and direct answer would be this; if you find yourself drawn to the Human Design System, if you find that the Human Design System is relevant, insightful, and empowering for you, if you recognize that humanity in general could benefit from being exposed to the Human Design System, you will want to consider enrolling in PTL1. In PTL1, you will move deeply in to, through, and beyond the technical information of Human Design. You will be trained and educated on how all these mechanical “gears, switches, and pistons” all work together in a unified, holistic, and synchronistic fashion. With patience, practice, and persistence, the beauty, elegance, and mystery of life will be revealed to you, right before your very eyes, as you gaze upon a Rave BodyGraph. Rather than simply being able to label this thing or that thing, you will see a BodyGraph from the perspective of an Analyst; the artists of the Human Design community.

Equally as important when considering committing to the Professional Training program is to ponder what you will become through the program rather than what you will acquire. I’ll repeat that; when considering PTL1, look at what you will become rather than what you will acquire. While I can’t really identify what each person will become specifically, I can say that, as far as I am concerned, my goal for each Student completing PTL1 is that you become an artist of the Human Design System as well as an admirer and lover of the Life Process itself. You will come to recognize both the mechanics as well as the mystery of Life and the Energies we each carry. You will become a profound Witness to the majesty of the Creative Process.

What are the tell-tale signs of someone who is a Certified Human Design Analyst compared to someone who knows a bunch of stuff about Human Design? What will you learn in PTL1 that you can’t get by just reading all the information available on Human Design? In other words, you might be thinking “I’m a pretty smart cookie about Human Design – isn’t that enough?” In the next article, I’ll explore what skills and talents distinguishes a Human Design Analyst from a Human Design know-it-all.
