A Course on Melancholy? Seems like a downer. Why would anyone want to take a Course on Melancholy? At least three reasons:
- Relevancy
- Clarification, and
- Empowerment.
Melancholy is relevant to the vast majority of humanity because 22 of the 64 Gates (34%) carry a specific Activation of Melancholy; 15 of 36 Channels of Definition (41%) carry a specific Definition of Melancholy; 152 of the 192 Incarnation Crosses (79%) have at least one Gate of Melancholy within it.
In other words, Melancholy touches your life directly as part of who you are or indirectly through someone you know. What Melancholy is and isn’t can make a big difference in your life or the life of someone close to you.
Melancholy is largely misunderstood as Depression. Depression is the Not Self characteristic of Individual Energy. To be clear, Melancholy is not a “fun day at the park”. It is typically not highly regarded and is mostly avoided. It can be thought of as a kind of weather that is undesirable. It is also something that is going to happen from time to time. Attempting to avoid or deny it is an interesting approach but is likely not very effective.
Melancholy can be empowering. It is, after all, a dynamic of the Knowing and Centering Circuitry as well as the Integration Channels and each of these carry the characteristic of Empowerment of the Individual. Isn’t it interesting that Melancholy and Empowerment are rarely spoken of as interrelated elements of what it means to be human? It will be asserted in this Course that Melancholy is at the core of Personal Empowerment.
In “Melancholy: The Sweet Sorrow” we will explore each of these areas more deeply. The intention of the Course is to have each person experiencing Melancholy as part of their unique creative process; something to be embraced and celebrated! This will occur without diminishing the “down” characteristic that is right at the core of the experience.
Life is Melancholy and Melancholy is Life will be the motto of this Course and will be seen as something to be cherished, loved, and valued.
As may be obvious by now, this Course will be a very uncommon exploration of the human Energetic experience. You are invited and it is hoped that you will attend.
