Ra’s Words of Wisdom
When you’re dealing with strictly integration there is no capacity strictly in integration to be able to transform the other. It is only through the potential of the 1st gate that there is this possibility to transform the other, to mutate the other, to impact the other. Think about the crisis of individuality, because the crisis of individuality is the dilemma that is here, this dilemma is uncertainty. All individuals live with the uncertainty principle.
When you think about collective roles, they are rarely uncertain. They can be con-fused, but they are rarely uncertain. They have a pattern that they can move to the future, they have experience that they can gauge from the past. So, when you ask them to make a decision, that decision is rooted in what is a certainty, their certainty, based on either the pattern moving into the future or the experience of the past.
But when you ask an individual to do something or they want something or whatever the case may be, the chances are they have no idea. They’re mutative. They oper-ate in a pulse. So, they know and they don’t know. They know and they don’t know. And they know and they don’t know. And they know and they don’t know. Uncertainty is something that is always there until mutation takes place. This uncer-tainty cannot be overcome by the mind. The not-self mind is not going to overcome uncertainty, it’s going to take advantage of uncertainty to drive you into decision making that takes you away from your nature.
The uncertainty in the individual is something that if you don’t operate correctly, this is the one thing that gets in the way. For example, the Investigator, the Investigator has looked into something, they’ve dug into it. They’re good at studying. They have a real gift of being able to penetrate information. And they finally come up with their foundation. But they’re uncertain about what to do with it. And they’re uncertain when to do anything about it, because the uncertainty is simply built in.
And in that very uncertainty lies the click, the switch that turns the energy of creative exploration into the energy of melancholy and the fears begin to come to the surface again. That fear when you don’t know when the timing is right, the not-self mind will get into all kinds of things. It will say, “Well, maybe you’re really not certain about the foundation,” and all of these things. And if you do try it and the timing is not the right timing, then it’s going to blow up in your face.
It’s not like the timing is something that you can elect, select or choose. The timing can only be a byproduct of your correctness; nothing more, nothing less. And you have to wait. Mutation is like that. It’s not just simply going to be there when you want it to be there, which is one of the dilemmas of individuality. It’s one of the dilemmas of creativity. These incredible stories of artists, composers where the creativity just stops, it just stops, they go mad. I’ve read all kinds of analyses of various examples like this. Mendelssohn, the composer, is one of the most famous. There are even chartings that have been done based on music that he composed and based on times when he was relatively ok, and times when was really quite mad.
One of the things to understand about melancholy is most melancholy in individuals takes over at the Externalization level, not at the Internalization level. It’s the mo-ment the individual comes to externalizing that they end up with the greatest diffi-culties. You can sort of intuit that from the Ajna configuration of the 43/23 when we talk that the difference between genius and freak is just a matter of explanation. The inability to be able to explain immediately ostracizes, alienates the individual.
But the fact of the matter is that the greatest problem for the individual is not know-ing how to externalize their individuality. If you’re operating correctly it begins to fall into place. And basically what this guide is all about is to give you a sense of that potential within you and to see something that regardless of what line you are—1 to 6—that there is a very special capacity, tool, aspect that’s necessary for you in order to successfully externalize.
It’s like anything else that the passenger consciousness takes in. When the passenger understands the pattern, the pattern begins to emerge. It all begins with operating correctly because there is no other way. If you’re not operating according to your Strategy and Authority, you’re not going to be able to externalize the mutation, externalize the magic. You won’t be able to do that. You won’t be able to get that creativity out.
The whole dilemma for the individual is that despite the fact that the 10th gate says, “Look, the only thing that’s important is that I survive. The only thing that’s important is that I’m alive.” And of course, for the individual that is not even half the story. Yes, survival is obviously deeply important. But individuals are not here simply to survive, they are here to mutate. Without the mutation we do not have transformation. Without the mutation we have no evolution. Without the mutation we have no creative spark; it’s not there.
It’s not enough that you have all of these individuals walking around with their indi-vidual roles within themselves, but it’s their capacity to be able to externalize it; this is what makes the difference. It will also make it so much easier for the individual to be able to find its place within the community. Individuality is always the outsider. It’s born to be an outsider.
There is no other aspect in the bodygraph that demonstrates, for example, the level of deafness that individuality demonstrates. The 28/38, the 43/23, the 39/55, these are deaf channels. They’re deaf in the sense that they’re designed not to hear any-one trying to interfere with them, trying to impact them because they’re here to provide their unique mutation to the totality. This is the responsibility. You can see by the nature of our civilization and our cultures how important the creative spark is. We survive on it, we need it. It’s so important in our lives that we have access to the creative, mutative spirit.
