Happy 30-Year Anniversary!
It’s hard to find the words to express my gratitude for Ra Uru Hu and all he did to bring The Human Design System into the world. Words are so limiting. I feel deeply blessed and humbled to have known and worked with him. He was such a dynamic catalyst in changing the trajectory of my life, and the lives of thousands. It’s not often that someone like Ra Uru Hu and something like The Human Design System come along to have such an impact on so many in such a profoundly liberating way. I am/we are so lucky to be alive right now to experience the expansion of The Human Design System.
Now, more than ever, individuals need their own guidance system for life. As the world’s old antiquated systems of authority continue to dissolve as we approach 2027, The Human Design System is going to become more and more relevant in order to thrive and survive. This is why The Human Design System is here now – to empower us to be our own authorities. Outside authorities are no longer relevant and reliable. I can only imagine how the exponential growth of this knowledge will continue in the coming years. And, it’s more and more important that we share this knowledge with as many people as we can.
I’m also very grateful to Jovian Archive for continuing Ra’s legacy, and supporting the IHDS, its teachers and professionals, in the effort to hold true to the original source teaching of this knowledge. Not only does it respect Ra and his 25-year effort to be the best messenger possible for this knowledge, but Jovian, the IHDS and the National Organizations, give us a place to go to for the original material and teaching. As Ra said several times, as time moves forward we get further and further away from the source of the original Human Design fractal line, and this will result in a distorting of the original message and teaching.
The 30th year anniversary is a moment of reflection and an opportunity to remember why the IHDS is so important right now. For those of you new to Human Design, Ra established the International Human Design School (IHDS) in 1992 as the first and the original school and platform for teaching The Human Design System. He asked me to be the caretaker in 2010, and I take the responsibility very seriously, as does our very talented and gifted faculty at the school.
Establishing a school with a structured curriculum was very important to Ra.
He said, “Everything about my work in Human Design is about legitimizing it as a new science; it is a science. It is not a new age fluffy educational program. In order to present it for what it is, and to establish it correctly in the world, we have to have a structured approach in the way that it is presented.”
I will continue to do my best to honor his wishes.
I recently asked Lynette Hagins to gather together some of Ra’s quotes from his transcripts as they pertain to teaching.

“But yet, here we are. And all of this is to simply reaffirm the same thing that I have been reminding students for a very long time. It is simple, what we do. It is a simple truth that life is built one decision at a time. It is the only way your life is built. It is built on one decision at a time. And the secret is to make the decision as yourself, and not to make the decision because of what you think you think you think you should or could or might or would be. That‘s all.”
“It’s wonderful that we can see all these things, that we can know these things. It’s wonderful; but, so what. I’ve been saying this to my students all along. I could teach Human Design every day, I have been for 20 years, and keep on teaching it every day for another 20 years because there’s so much stuff to talk about and there are so many fascinating things to see and it’s great and it’s stimulating and it’s wonderful. But it’s not what it’s about.
It’s about what you do with your life. That’s all. That’s what it’s about. It’s what you do with your life. And it’s so easy from our context, from our mechanics, it’s so straightforward: Strategy and Authority. Find your way. Live out what it is to be human, because we haven’t met it yet. We don’t know. Nobody has been able to teach us this. Nobody gives you an example. You have to find it yourself. You find it yourself through being your own authority and as long as you are your own authority it doesn’t matter what the hell is going on.”
“I have enormous respect for my students because they have done what I did not do. I didn’t learn Human Design in that sense. It was done to me. The whole awakening process and all of these things was an event. Everything since then has been a way to understand the nature of the input. Clearly there is this deep binary of what existence is. Within the Maya to tell somebody that operating correctly means honoring their Authority and their Strategy will help them in the Maya to live a life of less resistance. Whether or not they can ever grasp that that was there for them anyway is another story.”
“It’s only in that seeing that there is the possibility that you can ultimately share, empower, whatever language you want to use, share that outer authority with the other. Oh, it’s a very beautiful thing to watch; just to watch. You have to free the mind. You do that by following Strategy and Authority. In Strategy and Authority you begin the process of reconnecting to the consciousness field and to its purity and its beauty.”
“That’s what I like. I love a great performance, how beautiful, how stimulating, how inspiring, the great performance. But this is what you’re here for. You’ve been given the finest role. It’s yours; it’s unique. There is nothing like it. There are incredible possibilities in the fulfillment of what it is to play out that role. For 21 years I’ve been telling people their mythology. You can live it. You can breathe it. You can live the beauty of what it is to be on this plane and to be aware and not to be afraid; but, to trust, to love yourself, to watch the world and to share your consciousness, to offer your outer authority, and the magic that that can bring, the uniqueness of your filtering.”
“In the end it becomes valuable to the other. Not just in the form of you conditioning the other physically, but what is possible out of your Outer Authority. The purity of that, the beauty of that starts with the simple: Strategy and Authority. You can never figure out and control what you’re meant to be. You can only live it. And that means letting go of all of your expectations and your identification with this and that and the other thing. Give yourself a chance to actually see who you can be. That’s really the great joy in this, because it‘s a surprise, always.”
“But no matter what you learn, no matter what I teach you, there’s only one thing in this knowledge that really matters, that you get to live out what is correct for you and you can only do that through your Strategy and your inner Authority. There is no other way.”
